Our Terms & Conditions 

We no longer ask for these terms and conditions to be completed however it is really important our customers understand we will refer to these points below in ALL cases (these can also be found on our website), we advise they are read through carefully. If we proceed with any works these are the conditions they will be carried out under. 

PPL FLOORING CAN SEND COVID TERMS AND CONDITIONS SEPARATELY ON REQUEST.

We are monitoring the situation daily and any changes to the current circumstances we will update our customers and rebook them for another date. Please note; if we have ordered your materials then we cannot make refunds however better suited dates will be offered. 

We cannot attend fittings if anyone has a positive COVID test or is self-isolating. Unfortunately we have vulnerable members of our team as well as vulnerable customers. We will have to arrange a better suited date that is next available. 

IMPORTANT; Due to COVID-19 we cannot move any items during the current times so please can we ask customers to clear all rooms to the upmost best that they can. We will not touch any personal items. This is to limit the touching of different customers items. 

Terms and Conditions;

If you are not available on completion of works to check the area then we will leave at the customers own risk. 

All quotes will only be valid for 60 days. After this time the quote is no longer valid if your deposit has not be paid. 

Payment information;

We kindly ask for 50% upfront (subject to management discretion) this secures your fitting date and also the delivery of any materials required. 
Please contact us at PPL Flooring on ways to pay, once an order has been placed we cannot amend nor change the choice of materials.

If no deposit is paid then we cannot proceed with the fitting. This means we will not arrive for your fitting on the date agreed.

If you no longer require our services then your materials will need to be paid for in full.

The remaining balance is requested to be paid when the works is checked and completed on completion. 
If you are not available on completion we would need to ask someone is available to check on your behalf and also release payment.

Very Important; We cannot leave site until payments have been made. 

The final balance is to be given to the fitter in cash on completion; failure to do so may result in an extra added charge of 10% admin charge. 
We do not have the staffing to chase payments after fittings have taken place and the shop may be closed when your job is completed therefore card payments on completion will not be accepted. 

A signing off sheet will need to be completed on any works carried out before the fitters leave. The sheet will explain how we expect all areas to be checked before we depart including marks and scratches. 

We do not provide headed quotes but we can provide an email/written breakdown of work quoted. All quotes are valid for 60 days.

If you pay a deposit and we not hear from you within 90 days your quote may change after this time and we cannot honour your previous quote that you was given, we will not refund your deposit, the deposit contributes towards your fitting dates and allocating the members of team for your fitting. 

Once all payments are made and once the works are completed we then can issue a full formal headed receipt.

General Terms;

All arrival times given are approx. We apologise in advance for the delay should any occur. 

Areas need to be clear of any furniture and valuable items prior to the fitter’s arrival. If the area is not clear then this may delay your installation. 

We cannot due to current times move any personal items, please ensure the area is clear prior to arrival. 

WE MOVE ALL FURNITURE AND CUSTOMERS PROPERTY AT THEIR OWN RISK, WE WILL NOT REPAIR NOR REPLACE ANY ITEMS THAT MAY GET DAMAGED. This is also includes your new flooring. Unfortunately we do not expert in moving items therefore we are not liable if we are asked to.

We do not take up current flooring or carpet (unless pre-arranged) this service is of additional costing which we ask you to make us aware of prior to our arrival. Your fitting may be postponed if we are not made aware of this due to not having the allocated fitting time. 

We do not remove old waste free of charge, we also charge according to the amount of waste we have. Skips/waste carriers will be delivered to ourselves, we arrange all the waste disposal ourselves should we charge for this. Otherwise we advise customers make their own arrangements. 

We do not supply underlay with carpet only installations unless otherwise agreed which would be written in your confirmation. 

If we arrive on site and there is a reason that your fitting only service cannot not proceed as agreed we will not charge however you will loose your deposit paid.

We are not liable for the wrong sizes of materials unless supplied and measured by PPL Flooring. If you have measured yourself and the sizes are wrong then we will stay ask the materials to be paid for in full. This is more than the deposit payment.

We do not carry out free quotes for fitting services only unless agreed, we will ask before quoting to provide the measurements of the area that is requiring installation, the quote will be based on these measurements and if we believe them to be incorrect on the agreed fitting date the price may increase/decrease according to the measurements we believe them to be. No works will ever be carried out without the confirmation of change in price with our customer.

We are not responsible for any material defects when not purchased from ourselves nor can we liaise with any manfactures on your behalf.

We also do not have the storage capacity to take delivery immediately so we will request the delivery no later than a week before your fitting.

If we have agreed latex is to the carried out prior the area is to be completely clear prior to arrival of this, the area will be completely unusable and out of bounds for around 4-5 hours while it takes time to dry. 

We are not responsible for any areas such as different flooring levels, latex and levelling are not the same, we include a smoothing compound in our prices however not a complete level compound, levelling normally requires double of amount of latex that we do not account for in quotes, we are not responsible for skirtings. We do not reinstall skirting boards under any circumstances. If your new floor is of lower level your skirting will show a gaps if this has not been taken off prior to installation by customers.  

We do not move or install/un-install appliances in kitchens and utility room’s, we strongly advise having them checked by the correct professional. For example; a washing machine. We are not responsible for any leaks or any damage to any customers property, this is why we asked them to be moved prior to our arrival. 

With all LVT fittings we recommend you purchase a LVT cleaning kit from us, they are of additional cost (£48) but they contain all information and details of maintaining your floor including protective pads for furniture to prevent scratching as well as a floor buffer. Please enquire if you would like to purchase one of these kits. LVT will scratch if anything sharp or of extreme weight comes into contact. We advise you DO NOT use neat cleaning solutions on your flooring. It will discolour and patch in areas which is hard to rectify. 

Some flooring such as vinyl etc: needs to be laid on a completely flat surface. If the current flooring is taken up and the surface is not of a completely smooth finish it may require ‘floor preparation’ prior to fitting. There may be a charge if it was to need additional latex/ply, at no point would we ever carry this out without confirming with our customer first on site. 

We do try in most cases to inspect the floor surface underneath beforehand and include any additional works in the original quotes we give but this sometimes can not always be the case.

If we do not carry out the floor preparation with LVT your complete warranty is void.

We fit carpet in the most economical way possible. 

We order on the basis that customers are happy with their flooring choice and colour, we are not in any way liable if you are not happy with your choices. 

We are not accountable for any accidental damage to any areas including your new flooring once the fitter has left site (our fitters are instructed to take photos of the flooring areas before leaving site in every case). These photos are used for these purposes and may also be used for advertising purposes (customers personal information will never be advertised).

We advise all flooring areas after fitting do not come into contact with any dragging of furniture/items, we advise items to be lifted and not dragged, this can cause ripping/marking to areas which we will not be able to repair or restore free of charge, we will refer to all photos taken on completion. If this happens please let us no and we will try our best to help. 

Fitters are asked to walk the whole area of their work on site with our customers before leaving. This is to give a chance for anything to be brought to their attention before leaving site including any damaged flooring. 

Please if you have any problems before or during installation then please bring this to the fitter’s attention (this can also be done by telephone to the office).

You may be requested to sign one of our sheets before departing. If you are unhappy with any work that has been carried out then this needs to be brought to your fitters attention so it can be put right straight away.

All LVT needs to be fitted on a completely dry area, we are against fitting LVT on a wet surface (customers discretion and your manufacturers warranty will be void) if your area isn’t dry and we have to return then please understand that we will have to return on the next available date, we cannot cancel other customers booked dates.

Our fitters have the right to stop fitting at any point and leave site if they are abused in any way during fitting installation, it will then be up to office management if the fitting should resume, PLEASE NOTE; this could result in the deposit being lost. 

All work quoted for will be written on your customer file and also confirmed with the customer prior to any work being carried out.

We are not liable for any subfloor defects once flooring is installed, we cannot be held responsible for these issues for example; movement in the overall floor which would be a structural issue, broken floor boards under carpet, any leaks under your new carpet/flooring but we will always try our best to liaise where possible. 

If we believe there is a manufacturers issue with any carpet or flooring we will liaise with them on your behalf and provide them with all information that they request. However we will await their final decision in writing before taking the next steps. This may involve them visiting themselves for an inspection. During this time we ask you to bear with us as the pandemic has caused extreme delays with all manufacturers. However we will not be liable if they do deem a manufacturers fault. They will instruct us of the next steps to take. 

With thick carpet it will flatten very quickly on heavy footfall traffic areas. 
It’s important to maintain it often and hoover with an upright hoover. We do not recommend extreme thick carpet in heavy traffic areas should you pick this as carpet choice we are not responsible for flatting of areas, this is not a manufacturer issue. 

Mat binding is of additional costing as we out-source this to a company we also have no control over it’s time frame of return. This current time is between 1-2 weeks wait. 

Laminate is not waterproof so please ensure any water contact is wiped with a dry cloth immediately. 

COMMON Q&A’s ; 

Different ways and styles in which LVT is installed will amend the prices we give. A straight lay LVT will not be the same price as LVT laid at different angles. 

We do not cut doors free of charge, we will outsource this to our professional to carry out and it is of £15 per door. However we are this is not something PPL Flooring will be held responsible for ensuring it is done.

We do not mastic or supply door bars free of charge, all additional work including pricing will need to be agreed with the fitter or the office before them arriving to complete the works. 

We outsource mastic and recommend that bathrooms and kitchen have mastic installed to ensure they are water tight. They will ask you to pay on the day. Mastic is not included in our prices, this is outsourced.  

Door bars are £5 per door way but if there is a specialist door bar needs ordering it could be of more costing. 

We can remove old waste LEGALLY but there will be a small fee which can be discussed with your fitter and we will out source this to an authorised waste carrier. The removal of waste is not included in any prices given.
